Medresa Tedmurijja
A place of knowledge, worship and character.
Medresa Tedmurijja is an educational project devoted to the careful study of the classical Islamic sciences, the Arabic language, and the memorisation of the Qur'an and Hadith, grounded in the traditional way of acquiring knowledge.
Knowledge · Worship · Character
Knowledge that is acquired, understood and passed on.
Medresa Tedmurijja seeks to form students in whom sound knowledge is joined with worship, discipline and good character. Knowledge here is not treated as a collection of information, but as a trust: acquired gradually, understood in its original context, and passed on to others.
For this reason, Islamic education at the Medresa rests on the classical works and the traditional way of learning.
﴿وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا﴾
“And say: ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’”

التدمرية
Ibn Taymiyyah · a treatise of creed
The name
Why the name Tedmurijja?
The Medresa takes its name from al-Tadmuriyyah (الرسالة التدمرية), a work by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله. It is also known by the full title:
التدمرية: تحقيق الإثبات للأسماء والصفات وحقيقة الجمع بين القدر والشرع
Al-Tadmuriyyah is a well-known treatise of creed by Ibn Taymiyyah, dealing with tawhid, the names and attributes of Allah, and the relationship between the Sharia and divine decree (qadar). It is named after the city of Tadmur (Palmyra) in al-Sham, as it was written in answer to a question sent from there.
Library
Library
A space for reading, research and time spent with the classical works.
The library of Medresa Tedmurijja is intended as a place where students have direct access to classical Islamic literature and develop the habit of independent reading and research.
Masjid
A place of knowledge and worship
Learning at the Medresa is inseparable from worship. Prayer and dhikr accompany the path of seeking knowledge, for knowledge that does not lead to action remains incomplete.
The prayer space is a reminder that knowledge is sought for the sake of Allah, and that its aim is worship.
